Alex's birthday party!

Alex's birthday party was last weekend.  It was the perfect day to have it because it rained Friday and Sunday, but was gorgeous Saturday!  We did take some towels to dry off the playground equipment because I figured it would be a little wet still.

Jim and Jean drove up Friday night, but got in pretty late, so we didn't see them until Saturday morning.  Alex opened their gifts and loves what he got.  The kitchen took a little longer to put together than we planned and we ran out of time before we had to leave.

Robbie was a big help, too. :)

Robbie's also excited about the new kitchen!  (Wait, whose birthday was it? :) )

Putting a door on the kitchen

My friend's son and Alex's birthday are 360 days apart.  (Xavier was born a year before Alex.)  Xavier, Alex and Robbie are good friends and his mom and I have a lot of the same friends, so we decided to combine their birthday parties.  We figured if we were going to invite the same people, we might as well not monopolize 2 weekends for birthday parties.  And, we figure, at this age (2 and 3), they don't really mind sharing a party.  Xavier is big into construction vehicles and Alex likes trucks, so that's the theme we went with.  We had it at the same park as we have had Robbie's last 2 parties.  I like it because it's shady and has smaller playground equipment for the younger kids and bigger equipment for the older kids.  We will probably do something different next year, though!

Decorations

Personalized "hard" hats.

If only I knew what he was thinking when I took this picture! :)

The birthday boys!  (The best picture I got of the two of them.)

We were going to order a cake from Publix, but after having our friend Michelle's birthday cake that her mom made, we asked if she would make another one for the boys.  Not only did she make a delicious cake, but she did it for free!  Amber did the decorating and it turned out great!

Construction worker Robbie!  I have to get pictures of the other kids from Amber.

The kids had a great time at the party.  Unfortunately I think they were too sugared up on cake and juice to take a great nap, but they caught up on their sleep that night.

And one last picture of Robbie playing peek-a-boo!
