Catie is 10 months!!!!!!!!!!

Catie is now in double digit months.  We have even started talking about her 1st birthday.  I know the next couple of months will go by quickly and we won't have a baby anymore.  That's not true, I tell the boys they will always be my baby (and I will tell Catie the same thing, too).

Catie crawls and is fast!  She's quiet, too.  She's surprised me more than once showing up in a room that I'm in.  It's just another sign that she's growing up that she no longer stays in the room I left her in.  She's also walking a lot.  Ok, not walking-walking, but she'll hold your hand or hold on to furniture and walk.  I even put her behind the boys' space rover and she took a few steps.  Robbie was holding her hands the other day and walking with her and they were both laughing the whole time.  It was so cute!

Catie's 3rd tooth came in New Year's Day.  I keep waiting for more to come in, but they haven't yet.  She has been pretty fussy the last couple of days, so maybe they are coming soon.

Catie was diagnosed with her first ear infection last Saturday.  I knew it was coming because at her 9 month check up the doctor commented that she hadn't had any ear infections yet.  I knew the doctor jinxed us!  We never even realized her ears were bothering her.  We only took her to the doctor because she had a high fever (102+) Friday evening that had gone away by Saturday.  Guess it's a good thing we still took her!  For a few days all 3 kids were on amoxicillin because they all had ear infections.  Fun times! :)

Catie's 9 month check up

It's weird having Catie's check up schedule a month after she turned 9 months, but really, it was only a week ago.  I know with the holidays and her doctor is one of the favorites, it can be tough getting in right away.

Catie is growing and perfect, though I don't need an MD to tell me that!  I've know it since day 1! :)  Catie did surprise us by popping out a tooth yesterday.  It's a top one, but not the very middle one, but the one right next to it (on the right side).  When the doctor was checking her out, she did a gum check and her other 3 top teeth seem pretty close to coming through, too.  We'll definitely be keeping our eye on her mouth.  She's going to hate us because she hates to let us see her teeth.  But now we know that her gums are probably just sore with so many teeth coming through.  Matthew bought some Motrin so we'll have it on hand if she gets too fussy.  But other than a short nap yesterday we really didn't know she had a new tooth coming in...and I certainly wasn't looking for a side one to come in first on top!

Catie is 18 lbs, 0.5 oz (45%) and 28 1/4 in (70%) long.  Her head is 45.5 cm full of brains, but the doctor didn't get the percent for that.  I always forget, but the soft spot should close between 9-18 months and the doctor thinks it will close around 12 months because it's pretty small already (according to her).

Matthew and I both think Catie is starting to favor Alex more, though many people thought she has looked like him since birth.  I'm glad they all look alike...especially since they are all super cute!
