Charleston, SC

Last Thursday, Matt, his mom and I headed up to Charleston, SC, for a mini vacation. Matt could start taking time off work, so we decided to take advantage of it. Charleston is only 4 hours by car, so it's somewhat close but still far enough for a vacation. Matt went when he was 6 or 7, but this was my first time there. It is a beautiful city with so much history that I didn't know about. We bought Heritage Passports that got us into 5 houses (we only made it to 4), 2 museums, and 2 plantations. We also went to Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie and took a ghost tour Thursday night. No, we did not see any ghosts, but it was a fun tour anyway.

Friday was Matt's birthday, and it was busy! His mom recommended a restaurant that we had walked past the night before and it was really good. Matt was glad they didn't sing or do anything embarrassing for birthdays.

While we were in South Carolina, Matt's dad and family decided to come up to Ponte Vedra, so we had lunch with them Sunday afternoon. That was the most family Matt has seen on/near his birthday in a long time!

We took over 350 pictures, and it would have been a lot more, but we couldn't take pictures in most of the houses and the museums. I picked a few to share here.
